Privacy Policy

Your privacy is fundamental to everything we build. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the technical measures we take to protect your documents and personal information.

Last Updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how I Love Watermark PDF ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Manovex Ventures Pvt Ltd, handles your information when you use our website at ilovewatermarkpdf.in (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

I Love Watermark PDF is built on a foundational principle: your documents never leave your device. Unlike conventional online PDF tools that require you to upload files to remote servers, our tool processes all documents entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This means:

  • Your PDF files are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.
  • We never see, access, read, store, or retain any document you process through our tool.
  • Your files remain on your local device at all times during processing.
  • Once you close or refresh the browser tab, your documents are no longer accessible to the tool.

This is not simply a policy choice — it is an architectural decision built into the technical design of the Service. We literally do not have the infrastructure to receive or store your documents, because the tool was engineered to function without any server-side file processing.

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting the minimum amount of information necessary to operate and improve the Service. Here is a detailed breakdown of what we collect and what we do not:

2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Document content: We never access, read, transmit, or store any PDF files or document content you process using our tool.
  • Personal identity information from documents: We never extract names, ID numbers, photographs, or any other personal data from documents you watermark.
  • User accounts or credentials: We do not require registration, and we do not collect usernames, passwords, or profile information.
  • Payment information: We do not sell premium services, so we never collect credit card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials.

2.2 Information We May Collect

  • Basic analytics data: We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand general usage patterns. This may include anonymized information such as page views, approximate geographic region (country level), browser type, device type, and referring URLs. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
  • Contact form submissions: If you voluntarily contact us through our contact form, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Cookie and advertising data: Our advertising partners may collect certain data as described in Section 5 below.

3. How the Tool Works: Technical Details

To provide full transparency about how your data is handled, here is a technical description of how the watermarking tool operates:

  1. File selection: When you select a PDF file, the browser's File API reads the file from your local filesystem into the browser's memory (RAM). The file data does not leave your device.
  2. PDF processing: We use the pdf-lib JavaScript library to parse the PDF structure, overlay watermark text and trace identifiers, and generate a new PDF — all within your browser's JavaScript engine.
  3. Download: The processed PDF is offered to you as a download using the browser's Blob API. The file is generated locally and saved directly to your device.
  4. Cleanup: After processing, the file data in browser memory is released during normal garbage collection. No persistent copy is retained by the tool.

At no point in this process is any network request made to transmit your document data. You can verify this by monitoring your browser's network activity (Developer Tools → Network tab) while using the tool.

4. Local Storage (Trace ID Logs)

Our tool generates a unique Trace ID for each watermarked copy you create. To help you maintain a personal record of your watermarked documents, we store a log of these Trace IDs in your browser's localStorage.

What is stored:

  • The Trace ID (a unique alphanumeric identifier).
  • The purpose label you selected for the watermark (e.g., "FOR BANK KYC ONLY").
  • The date and time the watermark was created.
  • The original filename (as displayed by your browser — we do not access the full file path).

Important details about localStorage:

  • 100% local: localStorage data is stored entirely on your device, within your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Browser-specific: The data is tied to the specific browser and device you used. It is not synced across devices.
  • User-controlled: You can view your Trace ID history within the tool's interface. You can also export it for your records or clear it entirely at any time.
  • Clearable: You can delete all localStorage data by clearing your browser's site data for ilovewatermarkpdf.in, or by using the clear function within the tool.

We recommend keeping your Trace ID logs as they can be valuable evidence if you ever need to investigate potential document misuse.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website may use the following types of cookies:

5.1 Essential Cookies

We may use minimal essential cookies required for basic website functionality, such as remembering your cookie consent preference. These cookies do not track your browsing activity across other websites.

5.2 Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics services to understand how visitors interact with our website. These services may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track session information. Where possible, we configure analytics to anonymize IP addresses and limit data retention.

5.3 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. This helps us keep the tool free for all users. Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.
  • Measure advertising effectiveness.
  • Personalize advertising content (if you have consented to personalized ads).

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.

Important: Advertising cookies are related to the ads displayed on the website. They are completely separate from the watermarking tool and have no access to any documents you process.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services:

  • Google AdSense: For displaying advertisements. See Section 5.3 above.
  • Content Delivery Networks (CDNs): We load certain JavaScript libraries (such as pdf-lib) from public CDNs to ensure fast loading times. These CDNs may log standard web server information (IP address, browser type, timestamp) as described in their respective privacy policies.
  • Form processing service: Our contact form submissions may be routed through a third-party form processing service. The data you submit through the contact form is subject to that service's privacy policy in addition to ours.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we do collect:

  • HTTPS encryption: All communication between your browser and our website is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
  • Client-side architecture: Our most important security measure is that sensitive document data never leaves your device. You cannot breach data that was never collected.
  • Minimal data collection: By collecting the minimum amount of data necessary, we reduce the potential impact of any security incident.
  • Regular updates: We keep our website dependencies and infrastructure updated to address known security vulnerabilities.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the contact form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Right to access: You can request information about what personal data we hold about you. Given our minimal data collection, this is typically limited to contact form submissions, if any.
  • Right to deletion: You can request deletion of any personal data we hold. For localStorage data, you have direct control and can delete it at any time without contacting us.
  • Right to object: You can object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes, such as personalized advertising.
  • Right to data portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided below.

10. International Data Transfers

Since your document data never leaves your device, there are no international transfers of document data. For the minimal analytics and advertising data that may be collected, some data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including in the United States (by Google for AdSense). These transfers are governed by the respective service providers' data protection mechanisms.

11. Data Retention

  • Document data: Not retained at all. Documents are processed in your browser and never reach our systems.
  • Trace ID logs: Retained in your browser's localStorage until you clear them. We have no access to this data.
  • Contact form data: Retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our legitimate business records, typically no longer than 24 months.
  • Analytics data: Retained according to the analytics service's data retention settings, typically 14-26 months.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

If we make significant changes that materially affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by displaying a prominent notice on our website.
